Pete Benest

I am passionate about church planting and finances so this is the perfect role for me. Using my gifts to help others extend God’s kingdom across Europe is a wonderful honour.

Pete is responsible for overseeing the ECMB finance team and preparing and presenting the accounts for audit and the trustees, overseeing the governance compliance of the charity, and ensuring any problems are dealt with so that the office runs smoothly. He also provides support on financial issues to missionaries in the field and new missionaries who are just starting their fundraising journey. Furthermore, Pete liaises with other ECM finance leaders to ensure effective collaboration and communication between mobilisation teams.

Pete is married to Sarah, who is an occupational therapist for Leicestershire County Council. They have three grown up kids, all at university and beyond. In 2022, Pete and Sarah planted a church in the town of Shepshed, where they live, which has now grown to be a thriving church community. Pete leads the church bi-vocationally alongside his work for ECMB, and is excited to be involved in seeing the kingdom of God established locally in the UK and across Europe.
